Currumbin Clinic is a 104-bed private mental health hospital located on the Southern Gold Coast, delivering high quality care and positive patient outcomes. We have a team of dedicated Psychiatrists, Medical, Nursing, Allied and Administrative staff who provide expert care in the management and treatment of all acute mental health disorders.
This role will report to the Head Chef the successful applicant will have a working knowledge of the principles of safety within a health care workplace.
Essential Criteria:
Completion of or working towards a recognised catering qualification and/or proven ability in a similar position.
Certificate in Safe Food Handling
Work both independently and within a team structure
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy
Available to work weekends/evenings
Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques.
Experience working as a Chef.
The ability to follow instruction from Head Chef.
The ability to follow recipes.
Cooking according to recipes and set menus.
The ability to work in a team.
The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Effective communication skills.
Desirable Criteria:
Certificate III in Health Services.
High Standard of customer service and team approach.
Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.




Ability to work with minimal supervisions and to prioritise work effectively.
Vaccination Preventable Disease:
It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment:
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
• Varicella (chicken pox)
• Pertussis (whooping cough), Diphtheria and Tetanus
• Hepatitis B/Serology confirming immunity status
You must be able to provide serology evidence and a VPD form for the above-mentioned vaccinations and will be asked by the recruiting manager to supply this evidence if you are the preferred candidate for the role. Please note you are not susceptible to the VPD's listed in the role description.
