About our client
Our client supplies mobile lighting towers, generators, diesel engines, parts and servicing solutions to customers across Australia. The workshop supports mechanical, electrical and field service operations, working closely with warehouse, administration and interstate teams to deliver maintenance, repairs and technical support.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will oversee workshop workflow, coordinate technicians and provide technical support across servicing, repairs, installations and commissioning. Initially, the role will be approximately 50% leadership and 50% hands-on technical work, with leadership responsibilities increasing over time.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating workshop schedules and technician workloads
Maintaining technician utilisation above 80%
Supporting diagnostics, servicing and complex repairs
Managing parts, resources and job priorities
Leading daily pre-start meetings and promoting safe work practices
Monitoring job progress and resolving workflow issues
Reviewing timesheets, job documentation and workshop records
You will service and repair diesel engines, generators and lighting towers while working closely with warehouse, administration and interstate support teams to ensure customer commitments are met.
About you
You are an experienced tradesperson who enjoys leading people while remaining technically involved. You can organise workshop priorities, mentor technicians and maintain a productive, accountable team environment.
Ideally, you will have:
A Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification
Experience with diesel engines, generators or power generation equipment
Previous workshop or field service leadership experience
Strong fault-finding, servicing and repair skills
Experience scheduling work and coordinating resources
The ability to review job documentation and labour utilisation
A current Australian driver's licence
Permanent working rights in Australia

7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Workshop-based role in Ingleburn

Three-week onboarding programme, including training in Perth
OEM product and technical training
Career progression into Branch Management, Technical Management or Warranty Management
You'll work alongside experienced national teams while helping shape the future performance of the Sydney branch.
