Our client, a prominent Aboriginal corporation committed to cultural integrity and organisational excellence, is seeking a Senior Compliance & HR Officer. This pivotal role oversees human resources, risk management, and compliance functions to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
In this leadership position, you will develop and maintain robust compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and funding requirements, including the Child Safe Organisation Act ****. You will also manage the organisation's mandatory child safe standards and lead the adoption of self-assessment tools to embed a culture of safety and accountability.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and updating policies and procedures across HR, risk, and compliance domains.
Partnering with managers to handle incidents, breaches, and risks, maintaining detailed compliance registers and WHS records.
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant processes.
Promoting workplace safety through training, risk management, and fostering a culture aligned with WHS legislation.
Liaising with regulators and funding bodies to deliver accurate, timely reports and audits.
The successful candidate will hold relevant qualifications, possess solid and proven knowledge in corporate policy auditing, Employment and Safety laws and be experienced working within Indigenous corporate contexts. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential, alongside a commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and cultural understanding.
Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card) and an open driver's licence are also required.
