HEAD OF SPORT
Position Details
We are seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic and experienced Head of Sport to join our team at St John Bosco College. This position is a full time ongoing position commencing on January 1, ****. The Head of Sport (Secondary) is a middle leadership position responsible for the strategic development, coordination and promotion of the Secondary sporting program at St John Bosco College.
St John Bosco College is a Catholic co-educational College in its eleventh year of operation. The College is situated in Piara Waters, a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. We commenced in **** with students from Kindergarten to Year 2. In ****, we have **** students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, as well as an OSHC facility. Our innovative building design has a focus on shared, adaptable learning spaces which support best practice, 21st century teaching and learning methods.
The College motto "JOY IN LEARNING" is strongly exemplified in the person, life and teachings of our patron, St John Bosco. Our vision for this new Pre-Kindergarten - Year 12 College is creating a flourishing environment in which every student can experience the joy in learning and thrive in a Catholic learning community; where development of the whole person is of utmost importance. The mission of staff is nurturing our students so that they can become successful learners, confident, creative, and active informed citizens, who are able to contribute positively to society.
Selection Criteria
•A strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of Catholic Education and St John Bosco College and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the Bosco community.
•Have a commitment to Child Safety and Protection consistent with the CEWA Child Safe Framework
•Model a commitment to the Catholic faith, Salesian charism and educational mission of the College.
•Demonstrate enthusiasm for promoting sport as a vehicle for student growth, wellbeing and belonging.
•Exhibit highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
•Demonstrate the capacity to lead, influence and collaborate with staff, students and families.
•Foster a culture of participation, inclusion and excellence.
•Show initiative, creativity and strategic thinking in developing sporting programs and opportunities.
•Demonstrate strong planning, administrative and risk management capabilities.
•Display flexibility, resilience and professionalism in managing diverse sporting commitments.

•Promote positive sporting behaviours, teamwork and respectful relationships.
Qualifications Required
•A willingness to complete Accreditation requirements as specified by Catholic Education WA.
•Relevant four-year tertiary qualifications.
•Applicants must have a current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)
