DUCK IN HEAVEN PTY LTD Duck in Heaven is a vibrant Asian-inspired restaurant located in the heart of Thirroul, NSW. We are passionate about delivering exceptional food and memorable dining experiences, combining fresh local produce with bold Asian flavours. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our talented kitchen team on a full-time basis.
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing your designated section of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment. Work-life balance Task & responsibilities Plan and assist with menu preparation in consultation with the Head Chef and management, based on customer demand and business requirements. Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards. Assist with daily kitchen preparation, production and service.
Support the Head Chef and senior kitchen staff in managing kitchen operations. Follow recipes, portion control and plating standards to maintain consistency. Assist with ordering, receiving, storing and rotating food supplies.
Support stock control, portion control and waste management procedures. Monitor food supply levels and notify management when additional stock is required. Ensure all food is cooked correctly, served on time and presented professionally.
Use kitchen equipment, appliances, utensils and supplies safely and effectively. Maintain a clean, secure and organised kitchen environment. Complete temperature checks, cleaning charts and food freshness checks as required.
Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements. Work cooperatively with chefs, cooks and front-of-house staff. Support smooth and efficient food preparation during busy service periods.
Qualification & experience Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or a related discipline is required. Minimum 1 year of proven experience in a fast-paced and quality-driven kitchen environment. Passionate about cooking and delivering high-quality food.
Punctual, reliable and hard-working. Enthusiastic and willing to learn. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure during busy service periods.
