Centre Director
Lead with purpose. Inspire people. Make a difference every day.
At ELK Early Learning & Kindergarten, located in Bedford WA, we believe great leadership creates great teams, and great teams build great centres.
We're seeking an experienced and confident Centre Director to lead a team of dedicated educators, uphold outstanding outcomes for children and families, and take ownership of the day-to-day running of the service. You'll have the backing of an experienced management team — but the autonomy, and the trust, to lead a centre.
About the Role
As Centre Director, you'll balance the needs of children, families, educators and the service as a whole — making decisions that are thoughtful, fair and always in the best interests of the children in your care. You'll build a culture where educators feel valued, supported and empowered, because when educators thrive, children thrive too.
We're not looking for someone to simply keep the centre running. We're looking for someone who will inspire a team, nurture a positive culture, and continue building a service that children, families and educators are proud to be part of.
We're looking for someone who:
Leads with confidence, empathy and authenticity — comfortable working independently, and knows when to seek guidance or collaborate
Builds trusting relationships with children, families and educators
Creates a positive, respectful and accountable team culture, and mentors educators through coaching rather than simply directing
Communicates openly and consistently, and approaches challenges with a solution-focused mindset
Has a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and enjoys embedding quality into everyday practice — not just during assessment and rating
Takes pride in maintaining high standards across every aspect of the service
What you'll bring
Approved Early Childhood qualification- Diploma or higher
Experience leading within an early learning setting, ideally in large service sizes.
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and EYLF
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Current Working with Children Check and relevant clearances required for the role, including National Child Safety Training.
Why ELK?
ELK is an educator owned and operated early learning service where relationships matter. We invest in our educators through professional development, genuine support and real opportunities to grow. You'll have the autonomy to lead your team, the trust to make decisions, and a management team that believes leadership is about partnership, not micromanagement.
Our Commitment to Child Safety
ELK is committed to being a child safe organisation. We uphold the National Principles for Child Protected Organisations and embed them into everything we do — from recruitment and induction through to our everyday practices and culture.
As Centre Director, you'll play a key role in championing this commitment, ensuring children's safety and wellbeing is embedded in policy, practice and culture, and that every child in our care feels safe, valued and heard. All appointments are subject to a current Working With Children Check and other relevant safety screening.
If you're ready to lead a centre where quality, relationships and people come first, we'd love to hear from you.
