As a
C
linical Assistant, you'll provide essential pre-analytical support to our Scientific and Technical teams, helping ensure pathology specimens are processed accurately and efficiently so patients receive the care they need, when they need it.
Reporting to the Clinical Assistant Supervisor and Supervising Scientist, you'll work in a supportive, collaborative laboratory where quality, teamwork and customer service are at the heart of everything we do.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under 'Your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Experience in the collection of diagnostic samples from a range of patients including children and babies.
Demonstrated experience or ability to acquire experience in the correct procedures of pre-analytical processing for the performance of laboratory testing.
Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work productively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail,
ability to focus in a busy, complex environment.
Demonstrate a high level of commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
