Your Role:
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, this is it!
Rather than simply maintaining schedules, you'll be at the heart of the manufacturing operation, making decisions that keep production moving efficiently, maximise throughput, and ensure delivery commitments are achieved.
Levett Engineering is a high-performance precision machining business supplying complex components and assemblies to the aerospace and defence industries.
You'll take ownership of production planning and workflow across a complex CNC machining environment, ensuring work is prioritised, resources are utilised effectively, and production remains on track. Your ability to balance capacity, manage constraints, and make informed decisions will directly influence operational performance and on-time delivery.
Working across turning, milling, and finishing work centres in a high-mix, low-volume workplace, you'll create and optimise production schedules, monitor work in progress, respond to changing priorities, and collaborate closely with operations, quality, and project teams to keep manufacturing running efficiently. This is a hands-on planning role where you'll solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and play a key
What you'll be responsible for:
Creating and maintaining a finite production schedule across multiple CNC work centres.
Managing capacity vs demand, identifying bottlenecks, and driving solutions.
Releasing and prioritising work to maintain on-time delivery (OTD).
Working closely with projects, operations, quality, and leadership to align production with customer commitments.
Monitoring WIP and adjusting schedules in real time based on constraints.
Driving continuous improvement in planning accuracy, lead times, and flow.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within precision machining or manufacturing.
Strong understanding of CNC environments, routing, setup times, and capacity constraints.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (APS experience highly regarded).
Ability to make decisions under pressure and own delivery outcomes.
Commercial awareness—understanding the impact of planning decisions on cost and performance.
Aerospace, defence, or AS**** experience is highly regarded.
What sets this role apart:
You'll have genuine ownership of production planning and workflow—not just maintain schedules.
Be at the heart of the manufacturing operation, making decisions that directly influence production performance and on-time delivery.
Collaborate closely with operations, quality, projects, and leadership to drive production outcomes.
Direct impact on delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
Work in a technically advanced, high-spec manufacturing environment.
Opportunity to shape and improve how planning is done.
Additional Requirements:
Due to the nature of our work and the requirements of our customers, all applicants
may be required to hold Australian citizenship
