About the Role
Based in
Kogarah Bay
you will support two men to live their best lives. To provide best support, the successful candidate will have experience in active support and behaviour support and be comfortable in managing behaviours of concern when required. You will be active and imaginative in your approach to help the people we support to participate in activities, go for walks and have choice and control in their daily lives.
Joining ourSupported Independent Living (SIL)team on a
permanent part time
basis, you will support people with disability to live their best lives in shared housing, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
The successful candidates
must
be able to commit to the
set
roster line below:
24 hours per fortnight:
Week 1: Mon 3:30 - 7:00pm
Week 2: Mon 3:30 - 7:00pm, Tues 3:30pm - 8:30am (sleepover), Wed 6:00pm - 10:00am (sleepover)
Key Responsibilities
Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
Engage in client hobbies and interests, such as walks and puzzles
Maintain thorough record keeping
Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
Experience working with people with disability
Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
An unrestricted Australian driver's licence
Comfortable to drive a large van to support community access
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
