ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of
Regional Manager
(based in either Sydney or Melbourne) is integral to Infocus achieving this strategic intent and vision across the advice network. The role is focused on partnering with advice firms to help them grow, scale and improve long-term enterprise value.
Acting as a strategic business and practice management consultant, the Regional Manager works with selected advice business principals and leadership teams to develop and execute business plans, identify growth opportunities, improve commercial performance, strengthen practice management disciplines, support succession and M&A; activity, and increase adoption of Infocus' Playbook, an end to end wealth management capability across advice, technology, platforms and investment solutions.
The role is expected to provide strategic leadership, commercial insight and structured advice-business coaching, while coordinating internal expertise where required. It is not intended to be a day-to-day account management or adviser support role.
The Regional Manager will be responsible for partnering with our self-employed offices to ensure their operational efficiencies and commercial growth. This role contributes to the overall success of the Infocus Group by supporting and delivering the strategic and tactical plans to meet the group's objectives in profitable expansion of its Financial Advice footprint nationally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Priority firm strategy:
identify, segment and manage a focused portfolio of high-value and high-potential advice firms within the region.
Strategic business planning,
practice management and playbook adoption:



work with advice business principals and leadership teams to develop, document and execute practical business and practice management plans covering growth, profitability, capacity, succession and operating model maturity.
Practice engagement model:
deliver the agreed Infocus Practice Engagement Model for priority firms.
Growth and commercial performance:
identify and support initiatives that improve firm growth, revenue quality, client segmentation, advice efficiency, adviser productivity and profitability.
M&A;, succession and capital opportunities:
identify, qualify and progress opportunities for succession planning, business acquisition and merger activity.
Playbook proposition adoption:
drive deeper adoption of Infocus' Operating Platform across advice, technology, Platformplus AMS, PlatformplusWRAP, investment solutions and related business improvement tools, ensuring adoption is linked to clear business outcomes for each priority firm.
Executive and principal engagement:
build trusted, strategic relationships with firm principals and senior stakeholders, acting as a commercial sounding board and strategic adviser rather than a day-to-day issue manager.
Market, network and referral development:
maintain strong industry relationships and identify opportunities to connect priority firms with relevant strategic partners, referral sources, acquisition opportunities and growth channels.
Risk, compliance and governance:
ensure all strategic firm activity is conducted within the Infocus Group Risk Management Framework, AFSL obligations, delegated authorities and relevant governance requirements.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance, financial planning, management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Significant experience in financial services, wealth management, advice licensee services, practice management or business consulting, preferably working directly with advice business principals and leadership teams.
Strong understanding of the Australian financial advice industry, including advice business economics,



operating models, AFSL obligations, regulatory expectations and commercial drivers of practice value.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate strategic business and practice management planning with advice firms, including growth planning, profitability improvement, capacity planning, governance, succession, client service standards, operating rhythms and enterprise value creation.
Commercial acumen and confidence to identify, qualify and progress M&A;, succession, capital partnering and strategic collaboration opportunities.
Strong relationship capability at principal, executive and senior stakeholder level, with the ability to act as a trusted adviser, commercial sounding board and constructive challenge partner.
Ability to translate business needs into practical adoption plans across advice, technology, platform and investment solutions, including Platformplus AMS, PlatformplusWRAP and related Infocus capabilities.
Highly organised and outcomes-focused, with strong planning discipline, pipeline management, reporting capability and the ability to manage competing strategic priorities across multiple firms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear business plans, commercial summaries, meeting notes, recommendations and executive-level presentations.
Sound judgement, discretion and risk awareness, with demonstrated ability to operate within governance, delegated authority, AFSL and compliance requirements.
