IKAD Engineering is a proudly owned Western Australian private company with a national and international footprint. We provide a broad range of Project Management and Engineering solutions across a wide variety of Industry Sectors including Defence, Industrial, Mining, Marine, Oil & Gas, and Water Technology.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HSEQ Coordinator
to join our growing team. This is a diverse and rewarding role that will see you take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of our Business Management System (BMS) and play a key role in driving Health, Safety, Environment and Quality excellence across the business.
A clear pathway to HSEQ Manager
This role is deliberately structured as a stepping stone. As you build your track record in the Coordinator position, there is a genuine and supported pathway to progress into the HSEQ Manager role — moving from coordinating and supporting the system to owning, leading and setting the strategic direction of HSEQ across the business.
The Coordinator role is about doing and supporting — coordinating the system day to day, gathering the evidence, and keeping things running. The Manager role is about owning and leading — setting direction, holding strategic accountability, and answering directly to the Directors. We want to hear from people who see this Coordinator role not as a ceiling, but as the first step.
Key Responsibilities
As our HSEQ Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating the company's Business Management System (BMS) and supporting ongoing compliance with ISO Standards and client requirements.
Providing technical, legislative and regulatory advice to operational teams and senior management on HSEQ matters.
Coordinating project and site-specific competency verification requirements.
Coordinating internal audit schedules and supporting third-party certification and surveillance audits.
Conducting surveillance audits across operational business sectors.
Managing System Improvement Requests (SIRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including timely close-out and reporting.
Monitoring, analysing and reporting HSEQ performance against established objectives and KPIs.
Identifying opportunities for continual improvement across business operations.
Maintaining the company's Technical Standards Library.
Coordinating the development and maintenance of HSEQ Management Plans.
Facilitating risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
Coordinating incident investigations involving employees, contractors, clients and visitors.
Supporting injury management and workers compensation processes.
Promoting awareness of customer and compliance requirements throughout the company.
Supporting the implementation and maintenance of HSEQ system requirements.
Auditing external providers to ensure compliance with company and ISO requirements.
Managing document control systems and associated registers.
Supporting organisational change management activities to ensure the integrity of the BMS.
Participating in and promoting a positive safety culture across the business.
Undertaking additional duties as required.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety.
Lead Auditor qualification (Certified Auditor and/or Diploma in Auditing).
Demonstrated knowledge of Australian legislation and regulatory requirements.
Experience supporting or coordinating Integrated Business Management Systems.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex problems.
A proactive approach and willingness to learn, adapt and grow into a leadership role.
Current WA Driver's Licence and access to reliable transport.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a HSEQ Coordinator or similar role.

Highly regarded candidates will also have:
Bachelor qualification in Quality Assurance, Health, Safety or Environmental Management.
Certificate IV in Quality Management and Assurance.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Provide First Aid qualification.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Experience working within Naval, Defence and/or Mining industries.
