We have an
exciting opportunity available for a self-motivated and enthusiastic team member who is looking to pursue career into a trade as an Apprentice in Mobile Plant Technology
and wants to grow and enhance his skills in the access industry.
About the role:
Based in Green Field, SA with onsite parking, the Apprentice will be responsible for assisting Workshop Technicians with all functions within the workshop including carrying out pre-delivery of machines, service and repairs to customer and company owned Elevating Work Platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.
The Apprentice is expected to perform the below mentioned duties that are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:
Learning about and assisting with the evaluation of machine performance
Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications
Assisting with installing, testing, repairing and modifying electronic and hydraulic equipment
Conducting pre delivery inspections and assessing machines to ensure they are in positive working order
Assisting with conducting repairs and maintenance of customer and JLG owned elevating work platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers
Assisting with any duties as required including general cleaning and tidying of the workshop
Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by ANZ Standards and also by customer and/or site requirements
Assist with conducting three monthly and annual inspections of machines in accordance with JLG and Australian industry standards
Sanding, painting and general trade assistant duties as required.
General ad-hoc duties as required
To be successful for this Apprenticeship, candidate must have:
Commitment for undertaking a 4-year apprenticeship which includes on the job training and block theory and practical training with a registered training organization. Qualifications will be a
Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
Good listening skills including the ability to follow instruction
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantities
Mechanically minded - previous experience with mechanics, electrics or hydraulics such as tinkering with cars, motorbikes etc
Good attention to detail
