Broome Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) Hub is seeking an experienced and compassionate
Coordinator, Cultural & Lived Experience Reference Groups
to lead two vital advisory groups that influence and guide how family and domestic violence services are designed, delivered and continuously improved across the region.
This is an exciting prospect to work alongside the Broome, Derby and Bidyadanga communities, Elders, victim-survivors, Alliance partners and government agencies to strengthen culturally safe, trauma-informed and community-led responses to family and domestic violence.

Men's Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC) has been strengthening individuals, families and communities across the Kimberley since **** through culturally grounded and community-led programs.

About the Family and Domestic Violence Hub
This position is employed by MOSAC and is embedded within the Bibimbiya Jan-Ga Buru, Family and Domestic Violence Hub, a collaborative partnership led by Family Outreach Service (FOS) in partnership with Anglicare WA, Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation, Jalygurr Guwan Aboriginal Corporation, Broome Circle and Legal Aid WA.
Together we provide integrated specialist services including advocacy, counselling, legal assistance, therapeutic supports and services for children experiencing family and domestic violence.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager – Broome FDV Hub, you will:
Coordinate the Cultural Reference Group and Lived Experience Reference Group.
Build trusted relationships with Aboriginal communities, Elders,



people with lived experience and partner organisations.
Facilitate culturally safe meetings, workshops and co-design activities.
Ensure community voices directly influence service improvement and decision-making.
Support implementation of recommendations arising from community engagement.
Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed and healing-oriented practice across the Hub.
Prepare reports, monitor action plans and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
Represent the Hub at community forums and collaborative partnership meetings.
This role combines community development, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, project coordination and cultural leadership.
About You
You are someone who genuinely values community wisdom and understands that better outcomes are achieved when people are listened to and included.
You will bring:
Experience coordinating community engagement, advisory or reference groups.
Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities.
Knowledge of culturally safe, trauma-informed and healing-oriented practice.
Experience engaging with people with lived experience in a respectful and empowering way.
Excellent communication, organisation and project coordination skills.
The ability to work collaboratively across government, community and non-government organisations.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Relevant qualification in Community Services, Community Development, Human Services, Aboriginal Health or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Experience in the Family and Domestic Violence sector and knowledge of Kimberley communities will be highly regarded.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
High level computer skills including Microsoft Office and client management systems.
Essential Requirements
Current WA Driver's Licence
Current National Police Clearance (prior to commencement)
Current Working with Children Check (prior to commencement)
Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and mandatory training
Ability to travel to Derby and Bidyadanga as required.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following selection criteria in their cover letter:
Demonstrated experience coordinating community engagement initiatives, advisory or reference groups, and facilitating culturally safe meetings, workshops or co-design activities that promote meaningful participation and collaboration.




Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultures, cultural protocols and culturally safe, trauma-informed practice, with experience building respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities, Elders, community organisations and other stakeholders.
Experience working alongside people with lived experience in a respectful and empowering way, using community feedback and co-design approaches to inform service planning, continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships, prepare reports, facilitate discussions and work collaboratively across government, community and non-government sectors.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities, manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, monitor action plans and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Strong organisational skills, including workload management, prioritisation and sound decision-making.
Experience working within the Family and Domestic Violence sector and/or knowledge of Kimberley Aboriginal communities, community governance, quality improvement or evaluation processes will be highly regarded.
