About the Role
As a Roadside Assistance Patrolperson, you'll respond to RACQ member breakdowns throughout the Townsville region, providing safe, professional, and efficient roadside assistance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing basic mechanical and electrical faults
Battery testing and replacement
Flat tyre changes
Minor roadside repairs where possible
Retrieving keys from locked vehicles
Delivering outstanding customer service on every call
Recording job information using mobile technology
Working independently while maintaining high safety and service standards
Participating in a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays
About You




You don't need to be a qualified mechanic; however, you
must have solid practical automotive knowledge
and confidence working on vehicles.
You'll also have:
Sound mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
Current Manual Driver Licence (essential)
Basic hand tools (our patrol vehicles are provided and carry specialist equipment)
Robust customer service and communication skills
Good computer and smartphone skills
Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions
A positive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
Reliability, professionalism and strong work ethic
Ability to meet service standards and KPIs
Flexibility to work rotating shifts
