Principal
Strategic Planner
Help
shape the future of our municipality!
Swan Hill Rural City Council is looking for
an experienced and motivated Principal Strategic Planner to lead key planning
projects that support growth, investment and liveability across the
municipality. This is a senior role opportunity to
influence the long-term direction of the region. You will work on a diverse
range of strategic planning initiatives, including planning scheme amendments, land
use strategies, growth planning and community engagement.
What you will be doing
Leading
strategic planning projects from inception through to delivery.
Preparing and
managing planning scheme amendments.
Developing
plans, policies and strategies that support future growth and development.
Working
closely with the community, government agencies and key stakeholders.
Providing
expert advice on strategic planning matters and planning legislation.
Managing
consultants and specialist project teams.
Preparing
reports, submissions and briefing papers for Council and senior management.
Representing
Council at Planning Panels, Advisory Committees and other forums.
About you
You'll be an experienced planner who can
balance big-picture thinking with practical delivery. You'll be comfortable
managing complex projects, building relationships with stakeholders and
providing sound strategic advice. To be successful, you will have:
A tertiary
qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
Significant
experience in strategic planning, ideally within local government.
Experience
preparing and implementing planning scheme amendments.
Sound
knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act and Victorian Planning
Provisions.
Experience
presenting to Planning Panels and Advisory Committees.
Robust
communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
Well-developed
analytical and problem-solving abilities.
A current
driver's licence
Satisfactory
Police Check

Salary of
approximately $100,123 per annum + 15% superannuation
