About the Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Terminal Manager, this role will support the overall HR function and is responsible for aligning practice to policy to support the Fremantle Container Terminal. An integral part of this role is to work closely with the business on issues such as industrial relations, absence management, Payroll, Workers' Compensation, performance management and recruitment.
Key responsibilities include:
Daily processing of employee allocation/timesheets, as a priority
Fortnightly workers compensation payment administration with payroll
Provide support for Payroll and Labour Management activities
Oversee Workers' Compensation for the terminal including providing support and guidance, administration requirements, and coordinate with relevant external stakeholders and medical providers
Employee life cycle activities from recruitment, onboarding, development, retention right through to departure
Monitor adherence to policies, plans and HR programs
Assist managers and supervisors with appropriate performance management processes.
Support senior line managers on people-related issues such as management style or team effectiveness
Support and coordinate the implementation of appropriate industrial relation plans and processes which meet the requirements of the business and Enterprise Agreement
Coordinate investigations using best practice approach, make findings and recommendations to business stakeholders for implementation
About Your Experience and Skills
To be considered for this chance you should have the following:
Minimum 3 years' experience, ideally in an operational environment with demonstrated experience in workplace relations and people management
Excellent writing and comprehension skills
Experience providing support and advice to supervisors and managers in performance management
Approachable, personable, with the ability to build rapport easily with a diverse range of people
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with different stakeholders
Excellent MS Office skills
