Full Time – Contract until 30 June **** (Job POS*****)
About the Position
As Team Member Arboriculture, you will be responsible for working in a team environment supporting the City of Onkaparinga's tree maintenance operations.
You will support fellow team members in the safe and productive operation of chainsaws, woodchippers, elevated work platforms and trucks.
About You
You will enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced, well-coordinated workplace and bring a strong safety-first mindset. You will have experience operating chainsaws and chippers in an urban environment, along with a sound understanding of Australian Standards and best practice for the pruning and maintenance of mature trees.
The role involves physical work and the safe operation of equipment in a range of outdoor environments. The successful candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a comprehensive pre-employment functional capacity assessment to confirm their ability to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will also be required.
Key Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated arboriculture experience operating trucks, chippers, elevated work platforms and chainsaws.
Holding a valid MR Truck drivers' licence.
Holding a certificate 3 or higher in Arboriculture.
Proven experience interpreting and applying Australian Standards in tree pruning and care.
Experience working safely in a team environment, understanding safe operating procedures, applying First Aid and hazard identification and looking after the wellbeing of your teammates.
