As one of the Illawarra region's leading Road Freight & Logistics providers, Murrell's is recognised for its professionalism, reliability, and ongoing commitment to excellence.About the Role:Murrells Freight Service is seeking an experiencedDriver Trainer or Experienced Heavy Vehicle Driverlooking for a change to support driver capability, safety, and compliance across our operations.Reporting directly to the Compliance Manager, this role plays a key part in maintaining high standards and supporting our drivers through training, mentoring, and assessment.In this hands-on safety-focused role you'll be responsible for delivering competency-based training and assessments, mentoring drivers and supporting compliance requirements.You'll work closely with operations, compliance and drivers to promote a strong safety culture and consistent standards.This is a full time role with exposure across different areas of transport operations.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and train new and existing driversConduct driver competency and VOC assessmentsDeliver training and coaching programsMentor staff during probation and ongoing developmentMaintain training records and compliance documentationSupport CoR, fatigue, and safety complianceAssist with incident investigations as requiredWork closely with the Compliance Manager and operations teamOnboarding of New StartersConduct Audits of drivers and equipmentAbout YouCurrent MC Heavy Vehicle Licence with proven driving experienceKnowledge of workplace health & safety requirementsPrevious driver training or assessing experience (highly regarded)Strong knowledge of HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, and fatigue managementSafety-driven with a calm, professional approachStrong communication and interpersonal skillsOrganised, reliable, and comfortable with compliance requirementsAbility to prioritise tasks and adapt to the day-to-day changes of transport operationsCertificate IV in Training & Assessment or working towardsNHVR Portal knowledge including permit applicationsLF High Risk LicenceCompetitive salary and benefits package.Career development opportunities within a growing and dynamic logistics operation.Supportive team environment with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.Join Murrell Freight Services and become part of a trusted transport team built on reliability and respect.
