A leading global engineering and advisory consultancy is expanding its Australian onshore wind capability.
As part of this growth, the business is seeking an experienced Grid Connection Manager to join the team and provide senior technical leadership across a portfolio of major wind energy projects.The successful candidate must have significant Australian wind energy experience and a solid understanding of the Australian grid connection process.Key ResponsibilitiesLead grid connection strategy and technical delivery across Australian onshore wind projects.Manage connection activities from feasibility and application through GPS approval, registration, commissioning and operational compliance.Lead and review power system studies using PSCAD, PSS®E, PowerFactory or equivalent software.Oversee the development, negotiation and approval of Generator Performance Standards.Manage R0, R1 and R2 modelling, testing, validation and compliance activities.Engage directly with AEMO, TNSPs, DNSPs, turbine OEMs,
developers and specialist consultants.Skills and ExperienceSignificant Australian wind energy experience is essential.Demonstrated experience delivering grid connections for Australian wind farm projects.Strong understanding of the National Electricity Rules and Australian generator connection process.Strong capability across GPS development, power system modelling and connection risk management.Experience working with wind turbine OEMs and reviewing OEM models and technical submissions.Previous experience within an engineering consultancy, independent engineering or technical advisory environment is highly desirable.This is an opportunity to join a growing Australian onshore wind team at an early stage and play a key role in shaping its grid connection capability.
