Salvos Stores is looking for a passionate and experienced Area Manager to lead a network of retail stores across Gold Coast and Central QLD, including locations such as Molendinar, Rockhampton, and Oxenford.
Based out of our Gold Coast support office, this permanent full‐time role offers a rare opportunity to combine retail leadership with purpose‐driven work that transforms lives.
At Salvos Stores, every item sold funds life‐changing programs run by The Salvation Army.
Our retail model is dynamic—no two days (or donations!) are ever the same.
As an Area Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in empowering store teams, improving community outcomes, and ensuring exceptional in‐store experiences for customers and donors alike.What You'll DoInspire, coach, and develop a passionate team of Store Managers, paid staff, and volunteers.Collaborate with the Regional Manager to align area performance with national strategy.Lead your area to meet key KPIs—sales, surplus, safety, and service—including eCommerce-related goals.Champion operational excellence, merchandising standards, and a safety-first culture.Analyse and act on business reports to drive strong commercial and social results.Manage new store openings, refurbishments, and store transitions.Proactively recruit and retain volunteers and employees across all locations.About YouDemonstrated success in multi‐site retail management.Excellent people leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams through change.Strong commercial acumen and confidence with business reporting.A hands‐on approach and a heart for community impact.Aligned with our mission and values: integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity.Diploma in Retail, Business or Management (desirable).
Valid driver's licence (essential).
