We're a team of trusted experts who keep Tasmania's industries moving.We're looking for an experienced Field Service Diesel Technician to join our Tasmanian team, supporting customers across the state.
If you enjoy working independently, solving technical problems and getting out where the machines are, this could be the prospect you're looking for.Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, you'll diagnose, repair and maintain Caterpillar equipment directly on customer sites throughout Tasmania.
This is a role that offers genuine variety, autonomy and responsibility, with no two days the same.One day you could be troubleshooting a machine on a quarry site, the next carrying out major repairs on equipment supporting a customer hundreds of kilometres away.Regular travel and overnight stays are part of the role, making it ideal for someone who enjoys the field service lifestyle.
To support work-life balance, we offer flexibility with a choice of either a 5/2 roster (Monday to Friday) or a 7/7 roster (Thursday to Wednesday).
ABOUT THE ROLEDiagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar equipment and componentsPerforming scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs and major component replacementsWorking on engines, hydraulics, powertrain systems, transmissions and electrical systemsTravelling throughout Tasmania to support customers across a range of industriesDelivering exceptional customer service and building strong customer relationshipsManaging your own workload,
travel schedule and prioritiesCompleting service reports and documentationMaintaining a safe work environment and following company proceduresABOUT YOUTrade qualification as a Diesel TechnicianPrevious Caterpillar experience highly desirableExperience on earthmoving, mining, construction or heavy equipmentStrong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilityPrevious Field Service or Resident Technician experience highly regardedA customer-focused approach and strong communication skillsThe ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the fieldWillingness to travel regularly, stay away overnight and work overtime when requiredCommitment to safety and quality workmanshipWHY JOIN US?
