As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our Pre-Contracts team and play a key role in securing major projects across the Energy sector.ABOUT THE ROLEReporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, competitive and high-quality mechanical estimates for major bids and tenders across renewable energy, utilities, resources, and infrastructure projects.
Working closely with engineering, commercial, project delivery and client stakeholders, you'll help shape winning bid strategies and contribute to UGL's continued growth in the energy market.
This is an opportunity for a highly experienced estimator to influence major project pursuits while working within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and timely mechanical estimates for large-scale tenders and proposalsDevelop direct and indirect cost estimates using UGL estimating systems and toolsCollaborate with engineering, commercial, project and operational teams throughout the tender lifecycleEngage with suppliers and subcontractors to source competitive pricing and market intelligenceParticipate in tender reviews, client meetings,



post-tender discussions and pre-award negotiationsReview estimates prepared by other estimators and provide technical guidance where requiredConduct detailed tender handovers to project delivery teams following awardDrive continuous improvement initiatives across estimating systems, processes and methodologiesWhat You'll BringExtensive estimating experience within renewable energy, utilities, resources, infrastructure or related sectorsStrong mechanical estimating capability across EPC, construction or industrial projectsDegree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)Demonstrated ability to develop competitive cost estimates and manage multiple tender submissions simultaneouslyStrong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skillsExcellent communication, negotiation and relationship‐building capabilitiesCompany CultureAt UGL, we foster a collaborative, accountable and safety-focused culture where people are empowered to contribute ideas and drive continuous improvement.
