This one shapes outcomes.You'll be the senior specialist leading complex employee and industrial relations matters across a large, highly unionised workforce, partnering with leaders to navigate enterprise agreements, disputes, investigations and workplace risk.This is a hands‐on role where you'll become the go‐to expert for the organisation's most complex matters, representing the business in Fair Work Commission proceedings, building trusted union relationships and helping leaders confidently navigate challenging workplace situations.The next 12 months will be particularly exciting, with multiple Enterprise Agreements being implemented across the organisation.
You'll play a pivotal role ensuring successful rollout, compliance, stakeholder education and operational adoption.Reporting to an experienced Workplace Relations leader, you'll have the autonomy to manage complex matters end‐to‐end while contributing to broader workplace relations strategy, capability uplift and process improvement initiatives.Is This Your Perfect Match?
You're a genuine Workplace Relations specialist.The kind of person who enjoys interpreting complex Enterprise Agreements, navigating difficult employee relations matters and finding practical solutions that balance legal compliance with operational realities.You build credibility quickly, can hold firm boundaries when required and know how to influence stakeholders without creating unnecessary conflict.You're equally comfortable representing an organisation in the Fair Work Commission, facilitating a training workshop for leaders or negotiating solutions with union representatives.Most importantly,
you're team-oriented rather than combative.
You understand that the best workplace relations outcomes come from strong relationships, practical thinking and a focus on resolution rather than escalation.Your Role in ActionLead the implementation of multiple Enterprise Agreements, ensuring successful adoption, compliance and stakeholder understandingAct as the senior escalation point for complex employee and industrial relations mattersRepresent the organisation in Fair Work Commission matters including unfair dismissals, general protections and flexible work disputesManage settlement negotiations, deeds of release and litigation strategy where requiredProvide expert advice across performance management, conduct, investigations, terminations and dispute resolutionBuild and maintain productive relationships with multiple union stakeholdersPartner with leaders to navigate complex workforce challenges and organisational change initiativesDesign and deliver workplace relations training, workshops and capability‐building programsTranslate complex industrial legislation and Enterprise Agreement provisions into practical guidance for leaders and HR teamsSupport payroll compliance and system implementation activities linked to Enterprise Agreement changesContribute to workplace relations strategy,
governance and process improvement initiativesLead or support complex workplace investigations where requiredIdentify opportunities to improve workplace relations processes, frameworks and operational effectivenessContribute to future‐focused initiatives, including practical applications of AI within Workplace RelationsWhat You BringDemonstrated experience in a senior Workplace Relations, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations or Employment Law roleStrong Enterprise Agreement interpretation and implementation experienceProven Fair Work Commission advocacy experience, managing matters from commencement through resolutionExperience managing complex employee relations matters including disputes, investigations and performance mattersStrong union engagement experience and the ability to build collaborative stakeholder relationshipsExcellent understanding of Australian industrial relations legislation and frameworksConfidence partnering with senior leaders and influencing outcomes in complex environmentsOutstanding communication skills with the ability to simplify complex industrial conceptsExperience designing and delivering training, workshops and capability‐building initiativesStrong written communication and documentation skillsThe ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously while maintaining quality and attention to detailExposure to large, complex or highly unionised organisations will be highly regardedExperience within healthcare, public sector or similarly regulated environments will be advantageous but is not essential
