Your role
The HR Advisor, Business Partnering is a key member of the Youth Justice HR Business Partnering team.
The role delivers high‐quality, contemporary human resources advice and support to Youth Justice NSW, building strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders and acting as a strategic advisor to navigate complex people matters with professionalism, sensitivity, and sound judgement.
What you'll do
In this role you partner closely with managers and leaders across the organisation to provide end‐to‐end HR support.
You contribute to the development and implementation of workforce strategies that align with organisational priorities, legislative requirements, and public sector employment frameworks.
You will support a range of HR functions including employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, organisational change, recruitment support and interpretation of industrial instruments and policies.
You provide practical, solution‐focused advice that enables leaders to manage their teams and build a positive, high‐performing workplace culture.
You deliver high‐quality workforce analysis and insights to internal and external stakeholders to support workforce planning and operational decision‐making.
Operational workforce planning
Management of non‐work‐related injuries or health conditions
Resolution of workplace issues (grievances)
Alignment of culture to DCJ values
Management of underperformance and unsatisfactory performance
Establishment management quality assurance
Use of data to inform recommendations

Develop effective business partner relationships at all levels of management to influence, coach and become a trusted advisor
Lead, develop, coach and provide ongoing support to clients
Communicate effectively and present on a range of HR topics to promote and support workforce strategies
Think strategically, research and analyse information to make recommendations
Collaborate and obtain customer feedback to inform policies, procedures, systems and services
Use a range of IT applications and systems to maximise efficiency and effectiveness and maintain appropriate records
Plan and co‐ordinate multiple activities simultaneously
