What you'll be doing
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver advanced, autonomous and evidence-based care to people experiencing drug and alcohol related health issues.
You will combine expert clinical practice with leadership, education and collaboration to improve outcomes for individuals, families and the wider community.
Conduct comprehensive assessments, formulate diagnoses and develop person‐centred treatment plans.
Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic investigations, and implement therapeutic interventions.
Provide specialist clinical leadership, education and consultation to multidisciplinary teams.
Build robust partnerships with patients, families,



healthcare providers and community services.
Drive quality improvement, apply research to practice and support the ongoing development of Drug Health services.
Selection Criteria
Registered Authorised Nurse Practitioner with APHRA that has completed the tertiary requirements including a Master Degree (Nurse Practitioner) or Registered Nurse currently enrolled in a Tertiary Master Program for Nurse Practitioner with a view to complete in 2 years.
Demonstrated understanding of the Drug Health care delivery system and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by initiating, utilising, and reviewing evidence-based research.
Demonstrated advanced clinical skills, competence and leadership in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with D&A; needs.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current and trending issues impacting on the provision of D&A; care.
Demonstrated high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums.
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while also working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multi-service environment.
Evidence of high-level commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
