This role sits within the software division of a business known for its data and analytics tools across the National Electricity Market.
As product owner, you will guide a suite of live market data, dashboard and reporting tools used by traders, retailers, generators and regulators.
You will track what is coming from AEMO and shape how that gets reflected in the product.
This is a blend of market expertise and product thinking, not a modelling or support role.The right person has genuine NEM experience and enjoys staying close to market change.
You will work directly with traders, analysts and retailers to understand what they need from the data.
The business has shaped the NEM for decades and its tools are trusted by many of its key participants.Responsibilities:Track AEMO rule changes, market design updates and broader NEM developments, and assess their implications for data and reporting needsOwn the roadmap and prioritisation for a suite of live market data, dashboard and reporting productsWork directly with traders, analysts, retailers and generators to understand how they consume data and translate that into product requirementsTranslate market and regulatory developments into practical enhancements to dashboards,



alerts and reportsScope and prioritise product improvements in conjunction with development teamsProvide market context and interpretation to internal teams and clients on emerging NEM issuesMonitor developments in competing market data and analytics toolsSupport release planning and communicate product changes to the user baseRequired Experience:Around 8 years experience working within or closely adjacent to the National Electricity MarketStrong working knowledge of AEMO processes, NEM rules and market designExperience translating market or regulatory requirements into product or reporting specificationsBackground in energy market analysis, trading support, market operations or a similar data driven market roleComfortable engaging directly with traders, analysts and other data users to gather and interpret requirementsExposure to product management or business analysis, particularly translating user needs into delivery, highly regardedExperience working with market data, dashboards or reporting tools within the energy sectorQualifications:Degree in engineering, economics, finance, data analytics or a related fieldFurther study or certification in energy markets, power systems or business analysis regarded highly but not essential
