Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 + 12% Superannuation
Blu Ginger is an iconic fine dining restaurant located in Canberra serving Indian cuisine and are looking for 2 Full-time Cooks to work 38 hours per week.
To be considered for the role the candidate will need to have a minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience preferably in Indian cuisine.
The ideal candidate must think innovatively and can work in a team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to the menu and recipes provided.
•Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
•Season food, sauces and gravies during cooking.
•Following recipes, portion control, and presentation requirements.
•Assisting with daily food preparation tasks.
•Ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner during busy service periods.
•Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies when required.
•Storing food correctly in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
•Cleaning kitchen equipment, work areas, and cooking utensils.




•Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
•Working cooperatively with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house staff.
•Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost-effective kitchen practices.
•Ensuring all food is prepared safely and complies with relevant hygiene regulations.
Qualifications required for the role:
•Minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant qualification.
Skills and other requirements for the position:
•Have a minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience as a cook.
•Excellent presentation and communication skills.
•Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures.
•Ability to work under pressure.
•Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.
