You will oversee compliance, mentor junior staff, and act as a primary, trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of SMEs, family businesses, and local individuals.
If you are a Senior or Manager Accountant who is tired of the city grind, unpredictable overtime, and empty startup promises, we have a refreshing alternative for you.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of individual, SME and family group clients, acting as primary point of contact on tax matters.Review financial statements, tax returns and compliance work prepared by the team.Provide proactive tax planning, structuring and complex advisory support.Oversee workflow, WIP, recoverability and billing across the team.Review AI-generated workpapers,



draft returns and correspondence, ensuring outputs are critically assessed before escalation.Lead team adoption of AI and automation tools, contributing to the firm's AI review procedures and policy development.Supervise, mentor and support the technical development of Graduate, Intermediate and Senior Accountants.Identify tax risks and opportunities, escalating complex matters to Director/Partner level where required.Support business development through cross-selling opportunities and external referral relationships.About YouCA or CPA qualified (or equivalent), with a tertiary degree in Business, Commerce or Accounting.8+ years' experience within public practice; commercial accounting exposure well regarded.Solid technical knowledge across financial accounts, income tax, BAS, PAYG and FBT.Advanced working knowledge of AI-assisted tools and digital practice management platforms, with the ability to lead adoption and critically review outputs.Proven ability to manage a team and meet client expectations, with a genuine thirst for technical knowledge.Strong communicator with sound business acumen and an understanding of the SME environment.Confident report writing and client presentation skills.
