The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Lead to join our Digital & Technology team on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Digital Delivery Manager, you'll lead the development and uplift of TasWater's quality assurance capability, establishing testing frameworks, governance and quality standards across our digital delivery portfolio.
Working closely with project teams, business stakeholders and technology partners, you'll help ensure digital solutions are delivered with quality, reliability and operational readiness at the forefront.
In this role, you will:
Define and govern TasWater's quality assurance strategy, framework and testing standards.
Lead test planning, coordination, execution and reporting across digital projects and releases.
Establish quality gates, testing methodologies and assurance practices across the delivery lifecycle.
Oversee testing activities including system, integration, regression, user acceptance, performance and non-functional testing.
Manage defect lifecycle processes, including triage, prioritisation, escalation and resolution.
Assess and communicate quality status,



risks and release readiness to support decision-making.
Drive improvements in quality practices through automation, metrics, data insights and continuous improvement initiatives.
Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to align quality expectations and delivery outcomes.
Ensure compliance with security, privacy and organisational policy requirements.
Support the uplift and maturity of quality assurance practices across Digital & Technology.
What we're looking for
We're seeking an experienced quality assurance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
You'll be comfortable working in complex environments, influencing outcomes and building quality assurance capability from the ground up.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Formal qualifications in Agile testing.
Significant experience in software testing, quality assurance or quality engineering.
Experience leading testing across enterprise applications, digital platforms, system integrations and transformation programs.
Strong understanding of testing frameworks, governance, methodologies and quality assurance best practice.
Experience developing and implementing testing strategies, standards and quality controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience delivering technology solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
A current Class C Driver Licence.




Highly regarded:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.
ISTQB certifications.
Experience within the water, utilities or critical infrastructure sectors.

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $135,072 - $150,080 (inclusive of superannuation).
