Due to continued business expansion, this newly created position offers a rare opportunity to step into a varied and impactful role combining commercial advisory work along with exposure to property matters. Salary $*******k plus super dependent on experience.
About the Role
The successful candidate will join a small collaborative and high-performing in-house legal team, providing commercially minded advice across a broad range of operational and strategic matters. This role will support commercial functions while working closely with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
Advising internal stakeholders on risk, compliance, governance and regulatory issues
Supporting procurement, supplier management and business operations
Assisting with process improvements, contract templates and legal frameworks
Providing clear, practical and solutions-driven legal advice
Property Managing retail, commercial and industrial leasing matters
Supporting property acquisitions, divestments and due diligence
Advising on easements, access issues,
licensing and operational property queries
Liaising with internal property and project teams to ensure smooth transaction delivery
Assisting with occasional development, titling or subdivision matters where required
The organisation is seeking a lawyer who demonstrates strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
Candidates from both private practice and in-house backgrounds will be considered.
Ideal experience includes:
3-6+ years' PQE in commercial law, ideally with some solid property exposure.
Strong drafting and contract negotiation capabilities
Ability to provide concise, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders
Confidence managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
A cooperative mindset and commitment to supporting organisational growth
In-house experience is advantageous but not essential.
