Position Title: Environmental Services Supervisor
Employment Status: Permanent Part time, 45 hours per fortnight
Located in: Wonthaggi
Classification: HS2 (e.g. Grade 2, Level 2) plus super

The Team & Role
Responsible for supervising hospital environmental services operations, the environmental services supervisor ensures high standards of cleaning, safety, and compliance. The role manages staffing, rosters, labour budgets, cleaning audits, stock control, and equipment maintenance, while supporting staff through training, performance management, coaching, and workplace issue resolution to promote efficient service delivery and continuous improvement.
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the cleaning quality and standards are maintained at the highest level at all times.
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for training, mentoring, coaching, and retraining staff to ensure high standards of performance, safety, and service delivery. The position requires effective delegation, strong organisational and project management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment and is very much hands-on, requiring supportive leadership, attention to detail and a positive work attitude.
The role also involves conducting performance review, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence in environmental hygiene and patient care outcomes.
Skills & Experience Required
Entitlement to work within Australia
· A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date
· Provision of valid Working with Children Check
· Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions
· Qualifications as an HSA or willing to undergo the training
· Understanding and be able to maintain the Victorian Health Facility Cleaning Standards
· Proactively address OH&S; hazards, incidents and injuries and adhere to infection control processes
· Conduct regular meetings with Environmental Services staff and report through appropriate channels.
· Cleaning auditing experience
· Rostering Experience including EFT management and shortfall filling.
· Managing/Supervising experience
