About The Role:
We are seeking two experienced Gardeners to join our Parks and Biodiversity team, delivering horticultural and environmental maintenance across our parks, streetscapes, open spaces, and biodiversity sites.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will undertake a variety of horticultural maintenance activities including planting, pruning, mowing, weed and pest management, safely operating plant and equipment, completing work orders and digital records, and contributing to high quality outcomes for our community while maintaining strong safety and customer service standards
About You:
You are a practical, safety focused horticultural professional who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining and enhancing public spaces. This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and being part of a team delivering visible outcomes across the City.
You will bring:
Experience in horticultural maintenance, including weed, pest and vegetation management
The ability to identify common plants, pests and diseases and implement appropriate corrective actions
Demonstrated ability to safely operate plant and equipment
A strong understanding of work health and safety obligations
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility and willingness to support work across operational teams as required
Good communication skills and a customer focused approach when interacting with the community
Sound record keeping skills and the ability to work with digital systems and work order management tools.

Relevant qualifications in Horticulture or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience, together with a current driver's licence,



MR truck licence and other relevant certifications, are essential.

About Our Team:
The Parks and Biodiversity team is responsible for maintaining local parks, streetscapes, open space areas, biodiversity sites and nominated Council properties. The team provide and maintain creative, accessible and flexible public places and spaces that are fit for purpose for our community.
The Detail:
The positions are offered on a full-time, permanent basis and are classified at
LGE Grade ME5,
with a starting salary of $78,594 per annum + Super.
