About the role:
We are looking for an Assembly Technician, who shares our passion for quality products, to join our Assembly team. On-the-job training and support will be provided.
This is a hands-on technical role working in a high-tech manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for assembling, inspecting and verifying complex electronic and mechanical sub-assemblies and systems to high standards.
What you'll do
Assemble Currawong's electronic and mechanical products
Operation of electronics assembly equipment
Manufacture of wiring harnesses
Conduct functional testing of electronic and mechanical products and record results in accordance with test procedures
Follow assembly processes, testing and commissioning procedures
Record and update relevant information in Currawong's information and inventory systems
Other tasks as needed
Who we're looking for




As an Assembly Technician you will have:
A meticulous approach to your work and an exceptional eye for detail
A steady hand and the ability to perform delicate assembly work with accuracy, patience and care.
Ability to follow work instructions without taking shortcuts
A willingness to learn technical manufacturing processes and quality standards
Ability to read and understand schematics and diagrams
A passion for making things
Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
Confidence and be proficient in using technology
Ability to keep your work area clean, organised, and compliant with WHS standards
Experience in soldering and de-soldering would be an advantage but is not essential
A trade qualification or Certificate III in Engineering, Electronics, or similar is well regarded but not essential.
What's in it for you?
The salary range is $65,000 to $79,000 per year excluding superannuation, depending on experience. The starting salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the successful candidate's experience and capabilities.
Ideally, we are looking to fulfill a full-time position but part time and casual may be considered.

What you'll need
Essential Requirements
Current driver's licence
Baseline security screening may be required (via the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency).
Desirable
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Confidently hand solder through-hole components in line with internal standards
Experience in handling PCBAs
Trade qualification or Certificate III in Engineering, Electronics, or similar
