Zitron Australia Pty Ltd is a growing, ventilation fan manufacturing company, suppling industrial fan units to the mining and road tunnel sector, based in Perth and Sydney.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join the fast-growing Australian arm of an international group that is a global leader in the field of ventilation for underground mines, road and railway tunnels, and metro systems.
The company is part of a group that operates in over 80 countries on 5 continents.
In Australia, the company has supplied the ventilation required for the construction and long-term operation of many of the nation's major underground transport infrastructure projects.
The position:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Electrical Engineering function by assisting in the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimisation of electrical systems and equipment used in underground mine and tunnel ventilation projects.
The role is performed under the technical direction and supervision of the Company's Electrical Engineers and contributes to the safe and effective delivery of engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Carry out electrical testing of ventilation equipment on Zitron's in-house test bench, record and analyse test data,
and present the results to the Electrical Engineering team together with observations and recommendations.Configure, verify and assist in the commissioning of electric motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), electrical instrumentation, control systems and associated equipment.Conduct electrical performance testing and fault-finding on ventilation equipment, analyse the results, and report findings to the Electrical Engineering team.Assist in diagnosing electrical and control system faults and recommend corrective actions for review and approval by the Electrical Engineering team.Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings and engineering documentation to support testing, commissioning and maintenance activities.Prepare test reports, commissioning records and technical documentation to support project delivery and engineering verification.Provide technical support to the Electrical Engineering team during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), site commissioning, troubleshooting and performance verification activities.Carry out approved electrical repairs, modifications and adjustments to ventilation equipment in accordance with engineering instructions and documented procedures.Assist in the calibration,
verification and maintenance of electrical test equipment and the in-house test bench.Ensure all testing, commissioning and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with Australian Standards, project specifications, quality procedures and Work Health and Safety (WHS)
Qualifications & experience:
Diploma or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience where appropriate).
Experience in testing and commissioning equipment with Mining, Engineering or Construction industriesClean driving licenceSound working knowledge of and be able to undertake Electrical Testing, Inspection and Verification, to Australian Standards and Client Scopes and Specifications.Experience and knowledge of 3 phase ************v electric motors, speed drives and control systems.Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.Understanding in safety and working proceduresHigh level of motivation and be able to work with limited supervisionKnowledge of safety and work procedures.

The role on offer is based in Hope Valley, south of Perth, and the commitment and passion to drive innovation that you will bring to it will be rewarded with a commensurate remuneration package in the range of $85,000-$95,000.
