We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Accounts Officer
to join our Finance team. Reporting to the CFO, this is an important and busy role providing direct support to the Alphafit business. This includes ensuring customer deposit payments are received promptly to enable order processing to continue without delay, processing invoices, recording payments, and tracking expenses to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This is not a back room accounting role – you would be a key part of the business!
Primary duties will include but are not limited to:
Working closely with the sales team to ensure customer deposit payments are received promptly to enable order processing to continue without delay, including following up directly with customers as required (not limited to email reminders).
Monitoring customer accounts to identify outstanding debts and overdue payments.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to resolve payment issues quickly and maintain positive business relations.
Regularly updating AR ageing reports and provide commentary on collection status and risks and customer credit limits.
Processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals in accordance with company policy.
Preparing weekly/monthly payment runs, ensuring timely payments and optimal cash flow management.
Performing other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills
– you are comfortable talking directly with customers and are able to produce professional written correspondence.
Accounting workflow skills
– you can demonstrate understanding of the workflow of invoices and expense claims from receipt, payment to the correct supplier and update onto the bank's payment systems.
Self management
– you have well-developed organisational and time management skills.
Systems competency
– you can demonstrate experience in the use of Financial Systems (MYOB or similar highly regarded).
General computer literacy
– you have a good level of competence with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
