Carpenter / Fence Installation Team Leader – Pathway to building supervisor

Ern Jones and Sons is a licensed builder currently operating Hardline Fencing.
We specialise in high-quality residential fence installation and are expanding into house re-cladding and reroofing.
We are looking for an experienced, trade-qualified Carpenter with good leadership skills to head up our residential fence installations.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a transparent growth path: once the fencing team is running smoothly, you will move into leading re-cladding and re-roof crews as we scale those services.
About the Role
Lead a residential fence installation team
Plan daily works, allocate labour, manage materials, and ensure jobs are completed on time, to standard, and safely
Assist with site measure, set out jobs, and maintain high workmanship and presentation standards
Train and mentor team members
Maintain communication with clients and the office
Grow into leading re-cladding and re-roof teams as the business expands these services
Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards expected of a licensed builder
About You
Trade-qualified Carpenter (Certificate III or equivalent)
Proven experience in residential fencing or general carpentry with strong practical skills
Demonstrated leadership or leading-hand experience (or clear capability and desire to lead)
Ability to run a small crew, prioritise work, and take ownership of outcomes
Valid Construction White Card
Current C-class driver's licence (HR preferred)
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a professional attitude
Genuine interest in growing with a business that is expanding
Working at Heights and other relevant tickets highly regarded
