Yugunga-Nya Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (YN PBC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Future Acts and Compliance Officer to join our growing organisation managing native title for the Yugunga-Nya people.
Working across more than 21,000 square kilometres of Yugunga-Nya Country, including Meekatharra and Cue, you'll work directly with Traditional Owners, mining companies, government agencies and legal advisers to negotiate, implement and monitor heritage and land access agreements.
Based in our Perth office, this is an opportunity to influence major mining, heritage and environmental projects while helping build one of Western Australia's most progressive and commercially focused Prescribed Bodies Corporate.
What You'll Be Doing
Manage Future Act processes, including Future Act Notices, Expedited Procedure Objections and National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT) inquiries.
Negotiate, implement and monitor heritage, land access and related agreements.
Build positive working relationships with Traditional Owners, mining companies, government agencies and key stakeholders.
Monitor compliance with agreement obligations and coordinate responses to non-compliance.
Coordinate site inspections and agreement monitoring activities.
Prepare Board papers, reports, correspondence and submissions.
Maintain YNPBC's tenement, agreement, GIS and records systems.
Work alongside experienced legal advisers on a diverse range of native title, heritage and agreement matters.

About You
You'll be someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You're highly organised, communicate confidently with a wide range of people and enjoy taking ownership of your work.
Essential Skills and Experience
Experience working in the native title sector, mining industry, tenement management, National Native Title Tribunal, Native Title Representative Body or a Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC/PBC).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop productive relationships with Traditional Owners, proponents, government agencies and stakeholders.
Excellent written communication skills, including preparing Board papers, reports, submissions and formal correspondence.
Highly organised with the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated cultural competence and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal people.
Desirable
Working knowledge of the Native Title Act **** (Cth), Mining Act **** (WA) and Aboriginal Heritage Act **** (WA).
Experience with GIS software and spatial data management.
Experience managing Future Act processes, agreement implementation or heritage-related projects.
Experience in compliance, agreement management, legal support or paralegal work.
Qualifications in law, anthropology, archaeology, environmental science or another relevant discipline.
