Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive
Maintenance/Handyperson
to join our Engineering team on a
full-time
basis.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the hotel's plant, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe, functional and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
You will be responsible for:
Assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the hotel's facilities, plant and equipment
Conducting routine plant and equipment checks, identifying faults and carrying out repairs where required




Performing preventative maintenance tasks in line with schedules and operational requirements
Responding to maintenance requests across guest rooms and public areas in a timely manner
Liaising with contractors and internal departments to ensure all work is completed efficiently
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, repairs and inspections
Ensuring all tools and equipment are used and stored safely and correctly
Supporting the team to minimise downtime and return out-of-order areas back into service quickly
Upholding workplace health, safety and environmental standards at all times
This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and contributing to a high-performing hotel operation.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with:
Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar role
Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance, repairs or engineering environments
A relevant trade qualification (desirable but not essential)
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities
Experience using hand tools and maintenance equipment safely
Good communication skills and the ability to work across departments
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and on-call requirements where needed
