As our Queensland Hire business continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced operational leader to drive performance, develop our people and deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
The Role
As the
QLD Hire Operations Manager
, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of our Queensland Hire business, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient equipment utilisation and a safe, high-performing operation.
Reporting to the Head of Hire, you'll lead the operational team while working closely with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standard.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and develop the Queensland Hire team through coaching, mentoring and ongoing performance management.
Oversee the daily operational activities of the business, including the hiring, scheduling and delivery of hire equipment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while supporting business growth opportunities across Queensland.
Manage fleet, assets and inventory to maximise utilisation and ensure servicing, maintenance and stock movements are accurately recorded.
Oversee operational documentation including quotations, purchase orders, invoicing and hire agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage business costs and contribute to the achievement of operational and financial objectives, including P&L; accountability.




Prepare monthly operational reports, project pipeline updates and business performance reporting.
Promote a customer-first culture by ensuring high service standards and timely project delivery.
Drive compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and foster a proactive safety culture across the business.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, processes and overall service delivery.
About You
You're a hands-on operations leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and delivering exceptional customer outcomes within a fast-paced operational environment.
You'll bring:
Previous leadership experience within hire, logistics, construction, industrial services or a similar operational environment.
Demonstrated experience leading operational teams and driving business performance.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing operational budgets or P&L.;
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong customer relationship management and business development awareness.
High-level computer literacy and reporting capability.
Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Experience working within Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
A proactive, adaptable approach with strong attention to detail.
