The Role
Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager you are responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across studies, detailed design, project delivery and commissioning activities for a range of mineral processing projects.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and designers, and work collaboratively with clients and internal disciplines to deliver safe, practical and cost-effective engineering outcomes.
The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.
Duties
Prepare, review and deliver electrical engineering design and technical solutions for mineral processing and mining projectsParticipate in feasibility studies, concept studies, FEED and detailed design phasesConduct technical calculations and engineering assessmentsSupport procurement, vendor package reviews and technical bid evaluationsInterface with clients,
vendors and multidisciplinary engineering teamsProvide commissioning support and site technical assistance as requiredLead electrical engineering packages and coordinate project deliverablesProvide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designersAssist with resource planning and project schedulingEnsure engineering deliverables are completed on time and within budgetPromote a strong safety culture through design risk assessments and safe design principlesParticipate in HAZOPs, design reviews and constructability reviews
Criteria
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field8+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry projectsStrong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and mining industry practicesExperience working across study and detailed design project phasesProficiency with engineering and design software.Experience with HV design, including ETAP and/or Digsilent PowerFactory desirableStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsSite commissioning and construction support experienceStrong technical and problem-solving capabilitySelf-motivated with a proactive approachCollaborative and team-orientedAbility to manage competing priorities and deadlines
