The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our Australian Supply Chain team.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager – Australia, this newly created role will play a key part in driving strategic sourcing initiatives across the business.
You will identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers that deliver the best value while managing commercial risk, supporting contract negotiations and strengthening supplier performance across our Australian operations in Mining, Cooling & Crushing Divisions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys building strong supplier relationships, influencing stakeholders and delivering measurable business improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager – Australia, your key responsibilities will include:
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple categories.
Conduct supplier market research, benchmarking and spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Develop sourcing strategies and prepare tender documentation.
Manage the end-to-end tender process, including evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
Coordinate supplier onboarding and vendor consolidation initiatives.
Manage the full contract lifecycle, including execution, compliance, variations and closeout.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
Conduct commercial evaluations considering total cost of ownership, freight, lead times, quality and service levels.
Partner with internal stakeholders across Operations, Finance,



Legal and Commercial teams to deliver sourcing outcomes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions.
Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, governance requirements and contractual obligations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
Minimum 6 years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, supplier management or contracts management within mining or a related industry.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
Experience managing tender processes and commercial contracts.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make commercially sound decisions.
High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
Robust communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using Pronto or similar ERP systems.
CIPS qualifications or membership will be highly regarded.
