The College is excited to offer a full-time chance for an experienced
Secondary Science Teacher
to join our dedicated and collaborative Secondary School team on a permanent basis.
This position is a
1.0 FTE teaching load
and will commence during Start up week of Term 1 on
Monday 18 January ****

The successful applicant will teach
Science across the Middle Years (Years 7-10) and Biology in the Senior Years (Years *****)
.
Experience teaching Senior Biology and a strong understanding of QCAA syllabus requirements will be highly regarded, however, Senior Science teachers with experience teaching Chemistry, Physics or Psychology are still encouraged to apply as the role may be tailored for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will:
Support the College's Christian ethos, recognising each student's potential and fostering their academic, personal, and spiritual growth.
Deliver engaging and contemporary Science and Biology programs that promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and evidence-based learning.
Plan, prepare, and assess learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements.
Utilise a range of assessment and feedback strategies to monitor student achievement and progress.
Analyse student data to inform teaching practice and support improved learning outcomes.
Effectively manage practical laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and risk management requirements.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop high-quality curriculum resources and contribute to faculty planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Contribute to the broader life of the College through participation in co-curricular activities and College events.




Support the College's commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.
Skills and experience required:
A commitment to the vision and Christian values of the College.
Relevant teaching qualifications and Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
Demonstrated experience teaching Secondary Science, with the ability to teach Senior Biology.
Strong knowledge of contemporary teaching practices and curriculum requirements.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Sound relationship building experience and the ability to connect authentically with students, parents and colleagues,
Ability to inspire and engage students in a dynamic learning environment,
