We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager at Sitzler Pty Ltd, based in Western Australia.
As part of our Construction WA department, this permanent full-time position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in project-based operations.

Main Purpose of the Role
Management of all site activities for the whole of the project - from contract award, through construction and commissioning.
Responsible for the successful completion of the project within budget, time, contract, WHS and quality requirements, including appropriate site supervision, administration and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to the following:
• Ensure site WHS is maintained at all times
• Identification of potential practical cost saving design solutions for review with the Project / Construction Manager
• Check designs and details on plans, any ambiguity to be followed up and resolved with the relevant authority
• Keep records relating to and maintain contact and communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities
• Chair and manage regular Subcontractor meetings on site, ensure minutes are prepared and distributed in a timely manner
• Coordinate subcontractor planning to ensure adherence to project objectives
• Material procurement in accordance with the project purchasing procedure and limits of authority
• Assess plant and labour resource requirements for the project and communicate recommendations to the Project / Construction Manager
• Manage and verify site setout and survey, including the establishment of adequate control and recovery datum
• Develop processes for deficient areas as work progresses
• Provide leadership and direction to site personnel ensuring project team works efficiently and effectively, with team members covering roles in other jobs when necessary
• Foster, lead and promote good project culture presenting a collaborative workplace of high morale
• Regularly communicate with the Project / Construction Manager and project staff on project performance, risk and opportunity including current and potential construction issues
• Resolve problems in conjunction with the Project / Construction Manager where necessary
• Manage the immediate impacts of matters pertaining to industrial relations prior to escalation in accordance with company process and procedures
• Supervise project staff and subcontractors
• Maintain site standards at all times




• In undertaking your role you must maintain the ability to access the project work site either permanently or at intervals required by the project as mandated by the Director's
• Promote the company's image at all times
• To stay abreast of Corporate, Legislative and Statutory requirements applicable to your role
Head Contracts Administration
• Identify and record any current or potential risk pertaining to programme or scope, communicate with the Contract Administrator for collaborative assessment
• Participate in and contribute to the preparation of head contract claims for variations, delays and other commercial entitlements.
Ensure all site-based factors are considered
• Review the contract at project commencement and understand the key clauses for day to day progression of the works in accordance with the contract
• Assist in the evaluation of head contract claims for variations, delays and other contractual claims
• Contribute to and maintain awareness of commercial claims ensuring maximum flexibility and entitlement are preserved in balancing construction progress and compilation of notices, especially early notices submitted before the impact of events can be fully ascertained
• Manage your responsibilities and interactions in protecting commercial entitlement when communicating with Clients, particularly in relation to delay events
• Maintain awareness of and participate as required by the Contract Administrator in downstream commercial claims and management of subcontracts throughout construction and finalisation at end of DLP
Subcontract Administration
• Assist the Contract Administrator in the scoping of trades and selection of subcontractors, the letting of the subcontracts and items relative to market forces as required
• Ensure all required documentation as requested in the Subcontract Agreements has been provided by the subcontractor i.e. relevant insurances, ABN & GST registration prior to attending site
• Assist the Contract Administrator in the evaluation of all subcontractors claims for payment, variations, delays and other contractual claims and make recommendations to the Contract Administrator
Programme Management
• Prepare or assist the Project Manager to prepare Contract Programmes, review and submit to the Construction Manager prior to external submission




• Maintain or work with any allocated external Programmer to maintain effective programme management throughout the term of the contract
• Conduct progressive status updates on a minimum monthly basis or any additional frequency as required to maintain adequate commercial awareness of project position
• At each status update report on performance and present any identified slippage, risk or opportunity for Project / Construction Manager review
• Conduct / implement any change or mitigations approved by the Construction Manager prior to amendment of the programme
• Update and present contract programmes monthly or as otherwise required by the Contract for approval of the Construction Manager prior to issuance under the contract
Project Procedures and Administrative Staff
• Ensure the effective implementation and administration of project procedures for correspondence, filing information distributions etc. is maintained
• Manage the distribution and reimbursement of petty cash where necessary
• Manage and assist project staff where required • Maintain and monitor drawings and drawing register and ensure drawings used onsite are kept in good condition
General
• Demonstrates commitment and compliance to all SEQ Responsibilities for the business operations as relevant to their role
• Your responsibilities will include any other tasks which you are directed to undertake
Correspondence
• All company correspondence is considered commercial in confidence and as such matters of a sensitive nature or involving cost or time implication should be discussed with your Direct Line Manager in accordance with Corporate and Project Organisation Charts
Qualifications
Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out the job:
• Nationally Recognised Construction Induction
• Recognised relevant qualification or minimum of 15 years site experience in the construction or civil industry with senior level experience on major projects
-Trade or civil background
-Minimum of 5 years in estimating, administration and project management
-Or other relevant qualification
-Or other relevant industry experience
• Complete understanding of:
-Construction or civil materials and methods
• Sound knowledge of:
-Project programming
-Management and planning skills
• Exposure to contract administration
• WHS for Supervisors
• Drivers Licence
• First Aid
• Fire Warden & Extinguisher Training
• Working at Heights
• Elevated Work Platform High Risk Work Licence
Work Experience
Considered necessary to do the job effectively:
• Minimum of 15 years site experience in the construction or civil industry with senior level experience on major projects
-Or other relevant experience
