About the role:
Join the Counselling Team within the Children, Young People and Families Service in a rewarding temporary opportunity based at Forster Community Health.
This role offers flexibility to work across the Lower Mid-North Coast, supporting the counselling needs of children, young people, and their families.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues and a broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
What you'll be doing:
Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based assessment and interventions
Deliver person-centred care and therapeutic support
Contribute to health promotion and education initiatives
Participate in multidisciplinary clinics within the service
See clients across a variety of settings, including:
Community Health
Client homes
Schools
Community locations

Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a compassionate and skilled professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.




You'll bring:
Experience or interest in child, youth, and family counselling
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice
Requirements:
Social Workers - must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Psychologists – must hold a four-year degree in psychology, being a three-year degree with a fourth-year honours in psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, and be registered (general) or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via AHPRA.
