About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a
Project Officer
to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural workplace, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
This role supports the planning and delivery of key projects associated with the establishment and management of a newly acquired national park.
The Project Officer will coordinate resources, manage contracts and oversee both office-based and field-based activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Working closely with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders, the role contributes to the development and implementation of project plans, monitors progress against milestones, prepares reports and briefs and supports the day-to-day delivery of projects that help establish and protect the park for future generations.
A recruitment pool may be created for ongoing and temporary opportunities of the same role or role type that may become available over the next 18 months.
About You
You are a highly organised and motivated project professional with experience supporting the delivery of complex or large-scale projects.
You have demonstrated capability in project management and contract administration, including coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and tracking progress against established milestones.
Your ability to source and analyse information, prepare clear reports and briefs and monitor budgets and procurement processes enables you to support informed decision-making and effective project delivery.
Experience working across both office-based environments and field-based project activities will be highly regarded.
You are a focused and proactive team member who can manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
With strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills,



you are confident liaising with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders to support the smooth delivery of projects.
Your collaborative approach allows you to coordinate working groups, provide guidance or support to staff where required, and contribute to the successful establishment and ongoing management of a new national park.
Essential requirements
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
