Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Emergency Medicine Consultant (FACEM) Various permanent part time positions, up to 38 hours per week (4 shifts per week) Victorian Public Health Sector Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement *********** or successor, classification dependant of year level An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants to join West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG).
Located approximately 100 km (1.5 hours) east of Melbourne, our 24-hour Emergency Department comprises 16 treatment spaces, including two resuscitation bays, and manages more than 27,000 presentations annually, with approximately 25% paediatric.
Consultants are rostered between 7.30 am and ***** pm, provide an after-hours on-call service, and work within a well-supported multidisciplinary team.
Medical staffing includes Interns, Residents, GP Registrars, an accredited Emergency Medicine Registrar program and a 24/7 Medical Registrar.
Additional specialist support is available on call from Physicians, Paediatricians, Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Surgeons and Anaesthetists.
Warragul Hospital's Emergency Department is accredited by ACEM for the six-month Rural and Remote Special Skills rotation for FACEM trainees.
Supported by an experienced and proactive nursing team, the department offers a cooperative, patient-centred workplace with a strong commitment to education and high-quality emergency care.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group provides acute medical, surgical, obstetric, emergency, community and aged care services across the Shire of Baw Baw.
Established in ****, we serve a diverse rural,



residential and agricultural community with a primary catchment population of approximately 47,000.
WGHG holds full accreditation with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and maintains strong partnerships with regional and metropolitan health services.
Required Skills and Experience Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated experience managing adult and paediatric emergency presentations, including advanced resuscitation skills.
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies).
Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
