The MyState Foundation is seeking expressions of interest from passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board as a Non-Executive Director.
For more than 25 years, the MyState Foundation has supported organisations and initiatives that help young Tasmanians learn, grow and thrive.
Through grants, partnerships and community investment programs, the Foundation has contributed almost $3 million towards creating positive outcomes for young people across Tasmania.
We're looking for someone who is well connected within the Tasmanian community and brings a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing young people today.
About the Role
As a Non-Executive Director, you'll contribute to the governance, strategic direction and community impact of the MyState Foundation.
You will:
· Help guide the strategic direction of the Foundation.
· Contribute to Board discussions and decision-making.
· Assess grant and partnership opportunities.
· Provide insight into issues affecting young Tasmanians.
· Support strong governance and accountability practices.
· Act as an ambassador for the Foundation.
· Help ensure Foundation funding delivers meaningful community impact.
About You
We're particularly interested in hearing from people who:
· Understand the social, educational,



economic and wellbeing challenges facing young Tasmanians.
· Have robust networks across Tasmania's community, government, education, business or not-for-profit sectors.
· Bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Are passionate about improving outcomes for young people.
· Want to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation creating lasting community impact.
Previous Board experience is welcomed but not essential.
We encourage applications from individuals with experience in youth services, education, community development, health, philanthropy, government, business or social impact initiatives.
Commitment
This is a voluntary, unpaid position.
The Board meets quarterly, with Directors also expected to:
· Review Board papers and funding recommendations.
· Participate in occasional Foundation events and strategic discussions.
Applicants must be based in Tasmania and must not be affiliated with a current MyState Foundation grant recipient or partnership recipient organisation.
