Position Overview
EJA is a surveying and spatial services firm operating across the Northern Territory, providing field surveying, drafting, GIS/spatial data, and town planning services to clients including Government and private clients.
We are seeking a bookkeeper to support our Office Manager with day-to-day financial administration, and general administration tasks.
This role suits candidates across a range of experience levels.
Whether you are early in your bookkeeping career and looking to build toward greater responsibility, or you are an experienced bookkeeper who can step in and run core processes independently, we would like to hear from you - the position, title and salary offered will be matched to the successful candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions under guidance, including data entry for client invoicing and supplier payments.
Reconciling bank, credit card, and supplier statements.
Accurately enter financial data into the firm's accounting software.
Payroll processing and employee expense claims.
Help maintain organised, up-to-date financial records and filing.
Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Preparing basic financial reports and management information.
Help respond to routine internal and external finance-related enquiries.
Liaise with clients, service authorities and Government agencies as part of EJA's service provision.
Organise travel and accommodation bookings, including land permit applications.
Arrange staff inductions and access passes for Defence bases , airports and other sites
Maintain records of staff inductions, training and onboarding
Skills and Experience
Certificate, diploma, or current studies in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Experience with MYOB or similar systems.
Previous bookkeeping, administration, or accounts experience.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good numeracy skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a small team.
NT Driver's licence.
NT resident - Must be based in NT
