GEBIE Civil and Construction (GCC) is the commercial subsidiary of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE).
GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.
Due to continued growth both with our ongoing and with our newly awarded projects we are looking for experienced Civil Operators to work with the GCC staff and the community in delivery of our operations.
Our Civil Projects are varied and include general earthworks, construction and maintenance of roads, production and our batch plants supply of concrete and equipment wet hire.
OPERATORS –
FIFO from Cairns or Darwin (18 days on 10 days off)
Skills and Experience Required:
· Minimum 5+ years' experience operating mobile plant on civil projects - Excavator, Dozer, Front End Loader, Roller, Skid Steer/Posi Track (More than one would be preferred, not all are essential).
· Operator RII's are essential
· Current HR/HC/MC Drivers Licence
· Experience with Side Tipper, Tilt Tray and Float work desirable
· GEMCO dams and quarries current – highly desirable
For all positions:
· Construction White Card
· Be versatile around roster and travel requirements
· Ability to use initiative, prioritise and work within defined timeframes




· Physical capacity to manually handle 20kg unassisted
· A commitment to working safely
· Applicants must be able to pass a full pre-employment medical in Darwin or Cairns
· The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a small team
· Good verbal and written communication skills
