We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at our Bibra Lake food manufacturing facility.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of food production equipment used in the manufacture of crumbed chicken and other food products, as well as supporting the maintenance of company assets, buildings and facilities.
Equipment includes conveyors, fryers, packaging equipment and other food production machinery.
A strong commitment to safety, food safety and quality standards is essential.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance and repair of all company equipment, buildings and facilities.
Assist with the planning and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
Perform regular machinery inspections to identify faults and potential issues.
Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults to minimise equipment downtime.
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Manage stock control of parts and equipment.
Build strong working relationships across production and other teams.
Lead by example and actively promote OHS&E; practices at all times.
About You:
You will have recent experience working in a maintenance role within a food manufacturing or similar production environment.
Experience within food processing or another FMCG manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
Skills & Experience:
Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitting & Turning or a related mechanical trade is highly regarded.
Applicants with demonstrated maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment will also be considered
Experience performing planned preventative and reactive maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Experience maintaining production machinery, conveyors, processing equipment and automated plant.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety requirements.
Experience planning and recording preventative maintenance activities.
Sound understanding of manufacturing operations.
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Solid commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental practices.
Physically fit and capable of performing the inherent requirements of the role.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.
Reliable, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
